Ruben Dario Monument celebrates the life and wisdom of the Nicaraguan national poet. Dario is recognized not only as a great poet, but for starting the Spanish literary tradition of modernism in poetry. The statue depicts the poet with his hand over his heart as angelic muses encircle him from both above and below. Two swans complete the picture, bookending the scene in their quiet majesty.
