Front: The Socio Economic Growth of Kampala City sculpture

The sculpture was created by Sylivia Nabiteeko Katende, a senior lecturer at the Margaret Trowel School of Industrial and Fine Art at Makerere University, to commemorate the city's centenary celebrations in 2000.

This six note series won the 2011 Best Series Award and the 50,000 Shilling note, the Best Note award at the International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA) Conference that took place in Singapore from October 3-7, 2011. In addition, the 50,000 shilling note also won the International Banknote Society 2010 Banknote of the Year award.
